Classroom AV Self-Help Guide

Summary

This article presents a "quick guide" to identifying and resolving common AV problems in GCC Batavia classrooms and meeting rooms.

Before You Start

Consider the following:

  • Be aware that GCC Batavia classrooms and meeting rooms are equipped with different "generations" of AV presentation systems, namely:
    • Extron switcher box in the room's AV rack, in which the source to display (e.g., computer, laptop, document camera) is selected by pressing a button on the Extron box-- In most cases, the instructor PC is source/button 2.  Power the projector ON/OFF with a separate remote.
    • Basic AV presentation system with mini Crestron touch screen (on desktop of wall).   Automatically powers on the TV or projector.  You touch screen to select local PC or laptop
    • HyFlex AV system (includes wall cameras, ceiling microphones, wireless lapel mic) with mini Crestron touch screen.

Steps

  1. Be aware of the AV system set up in the room
  2. Is there a paper copy of the AV self-help guide in the room?
  3. If there is not a paper copy of AV self-help guide available, you may view an electronic copy by clicking here
  4. If this guide does not help you resolve the problem, submit a request for HELP (insert TDX link)
  5.
