Summary

Before You Start

  • Currently, we only have Hearing Assistive Technology in T102 and the RCCA Fieldhouse. This article will be updates as more rooms are made accessible.

Steps

T102:

  1. A total of 6 Hearing Assistive Devices are in the A/V closet in T102, behind the microphones. They are cradled in a charging dock; a solid light means that they are fully charged.

  1. When removed from the dock, the device will automatically power on. The user has a choice of attachment; ear speakers are connected by default, but there are cochlear-compatible neck loops available in the closet.

  1. The volume can be adjusted with the arrows on the front face of the device.

  1. Due to the architecture, some spots may have a "fuzz" sound. This is no more than 2 seats per row.

  1. If there are issues with the Hearing Assistive Devices, please Submit a Ticket to report the issue (Link).

RCCA Fieldhouse:

  1. There are a total of 80 Hearing Assistive Devices at the RCCA Fieldhouse. These are in locked storage, and can be available upon request.

  1. To turn on, move the volume wheel on the top of the device away from "Off". There should be a small resistance, and then the screen and red light on top should light up.

  1. We do not use rechargeable batteries in these devices, but replace as needed. If you are in charge of handing out these devices, you can check on the right hand side of the screen to see the battery level. A full battery lasts around 30 hours of use.

  1. There are both headphone and neck loop attachments available; this is the choice of the end user, based on their current hearing device(s).
