Pharos Printing - Reset Pin Number

Summary

This document is for those who forgot or need to reset their Pharos Pin number. 

Before You Start

  • You will need access to an on-campus computer with Pharos Printer capabilities

Steps 

  1. Log into a campus computer
  2. Find the Pharos Icon in the lower right-hand tray near the time

  3. Sign into Pharos with your NetID@genesee.edu and password when prompted

  4. In the Pharos Secure Release Window Click on the ‘hamburger’ 3-Line Menu

  5. Choose Reset Passcode

  6. Write down passcode and Close window. DO NOT CLICK CONTINUE, Just close the window.

  • If you forget your Badge, you can always use the PIN number to log into a printer. If you forget your PIN, you can easily make a new one using this document 
  • Toshiba Printers – Log you off automatically after 3 minutes
  • HP Printers – Will Log you off after 30 seconds of no interaction with the touch screen
  • Print jobs will remain in your queue for 72hrs. You can batch print jobs and pickup at your convenience all at once.
  • Printer Defaults are grayscale and double-sided and will feed from the default high-capacity tray.  Utilize ‘Printer Options’ on your computer before sending the job to the print queue
  • Paper Refill – Printers are in or near a specific department. While paper ordering may be the job of that department, the person printing the job is the one responsible for filling the tray should it require it.
  • Paper Jams – Paper jams can occur, do your best to follow on screen instructions to clear them. If the error isn’t clearing open a issue for support.
  • Toner Orders – These printers are actively monitored, and toner will be shipped out before replacement is needed.  Should you require emergency toner please Open a helpdesk ticket
