Title II Accessibility Compliance (for SharePoint/Teams Owners), Quick Action #2: Submit your file inventory to Title 2 Project

Body

See Quick Action #1: Preparing SharePoint/Teams Site Documents for Inventory for the previous Quick Action in this process.

Step 1 – Export Your Inventory

Within EACH subfolder or channel:

  1. Navigate to the …To_Inventory folder where you placed the active files for remediation.
  2. Click Export to Excel, toward the top right of the screen.  You may need to click the “…” icon to see this button:
Screenshot from SharePoint of the CentralServices_CSW_To_Inventory folder. The Export to Excep button on the tool bar is circled.
  3. This will download a file named “query.iqy” to your default download folder.  To locate that folder, click Downloads in the upper right corner, and click the folder icon to the right of the filename in the Downloads:
    x
  4. Identify the folder containing the “query.iqy” files, identified in step 3 above. When you find the file, rename it so that the main part of the filename is the same as the folder from which it's exported - for example, CentralServices_CWS_To_Inventory.iqy.
Example – default download folder location:
Windows Explorer window showing the location of the query.iqy file.

Step 2: Email the resulting file(s) to: Title2Project@genesee.edu

Please note: We are in the process of adding a TeamDynamix workflow for submitting inventory results or requesting help with document remediation. Watch this space!

Use as your subject something like ‘Document Inventory file for [department, committee, or Team]’.

You can submit more than one query file.

In the body of the email, list the folders for which you are submitting inventory files, and the name of the person who has responsibility for making decisions about the documents in that folder (the ‘owner’).

We will import the document inventory into our records, where it will allow us to track GCC’s progress toward achieving our Title II goals.

Send questions to Title2Project@genesee.edu.
