Before You Start

To get started, ensure that you have the following:

1. A valid NetID@genesee.edu email address: This is typically assigned to students, faculty, and staff at Genesee Community College.

2. Access to a computer that is connected to the Internet.

3. You will need access to GSI. These steps will help you log in. 

Steps 

Overview

This page presents four historical enrollment line charts showing fall and spring enrollment counts at both Census and Final. There is also a table where up to three of twenty-eight different demographics can be selected.

Prompts are presented for Award Level, Program, Perkins and Full/Part-Time Status. By default, all programs, all award levels, all Perkins, and all Students are selected.

Finding the Dashboard

In this document the “>” symbol is used when representing a series of clicks/selections needed when showing the pathway/navigation for dashboards.

To find the dashboard, log on to GSI > Dashboards > Institutional Research > Factbook – Enrollments > click on page “Term Enrollment by Program”.

Welcome/Landing Page

When you get to the Factbook – Enrollments Dashboard landing/Welcome page, you can either click on the link or the tab to get to “Term Enrollments by Program”.

Census and Final Enrollment Charts

Four historical enrollment line charts are presented showing data from 2011 to 2024: “Fall Census Enrollment”, "Fall Final Enrollment", “Spring Census Enrollment”, and "Spring Final Enrollment".

In the screenshot below, we can see the steady decline in enrollment of all students since 2011 with a very slight increase from Fall 2023 to Fall 2024. When looking just at the freshman enrollment counts, we note that has also been declining since 2011 but there was an increase from Fall 2022 to Fall 2023.

Term Enrollment by Program Table with Demographics Options

This page also presents a term enrollment table. In addition to selecting one or more terms, and choosing Census and/or Final data, users may select any combination of up to three of twenty-nine demographic variables:

  1. Age
  2. Gender (Sex)
  3. Race: IPEDS Race/Ethnicity
  4. Fin Aid Pell Recipient
  5. College Village
  6. Residency (Region)
  7. Fin Aid TAP Recipient
  8. Matriculated Ind.
  9. Residency Detail (County)
  10. GCC ACE Status
  11. Military status
  12. Student Type
  13. Full/Part Status
  14. Race
  15. Concentration
  16. Hispanic Ethnicity
  17. Underrepresented by Race or Ethnicity

For the screenshot below, for the Fall 2024 term at Census, the following demographics were selected: Student Type (First-time, Transfer, Continuing, Returning, High School (HS)) and Full/Part-Time Status.

The table is broken down by degree program and shows counts of full-time and part-time students for each student type for that program. For the Accounting AAS program we can see the student count is fairly equal between First-Time, Transfer, and Continuing students and lower for Returning and High School students.
