Enabling Pop-ups to Address Intermittent Banner Authentication Error Messages

Problem:

Ever since the Banner migration to ITEC, there has been a rise in reports from users reporting intermittent authentication failed errors requiring them close and re-open the browser to resolve.

Solution:

Enable pop-ups in the browser.

Steps for Edge

  1. Click the 3-dot menu in the upper right corner then select Settings
  2. In the Search Settings box, type pop-ups
  3. In the Search Results under Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissions, click Pop-ups and redirects
  4. Turn the Block (Recommended) switch off (should be white, not blue)
  5. Close and reopen all browser windows

Steps for Chrome

  1. Click the 3-dot menu in the upper right corner then select Settings
  2. Click the search icon, then type pop-ups in the search field
  3. Click Site Settings
  4. Click Pop-ups and redirects
  5. Click the radio button next to Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects
  6. Close and reopen all browser windows
