How to Login to Slate

Summary

In this tutorial you will be guided through the process of logging in to Slate.

Before You Start

To get started, ensure that you have the following:

1. A valid NetID@genesee.edu email address: This is typically assigned to students, faculty, and staff at Genesee Community College.

2. Access to a computer that is connected to the Internet.

3. Access to Slate.

Steps 

1. Open your preferred browser and navigate to the Slate webpage: https://apply.genesee.edu/manage/

2. Upon reaching the webpage you will see a page saying, "SUNY Secure Sign On" with a drop-down below for you to select your campus.

3. Click on the drop down, scroll down, and select "Genesee" from the list.

4. Click the toggle switch for "Remember Campus?" it toggles to the right and then click "Log In"

5. After Clicking the "Log In" button, it will bring you to the login page.

6. Enter your NetID@genesee.edu email and click "Next".

7. Enter your password and click "Sign in".

8. After clicking "Sign in", you will be brought to a page where you are prompted to enter the one-time code that you received. After entering the code in the box, click continue.

9. You are now at the main page of Slate.

Additional Steps 

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) may need to be set up if not already done by the person creating your Slate account. If you did not have to use MFA when logging in, you will have to set this up upon log in. The steps to do so are below:

1. On the home screen of Slate, click the Profile Icon in the top right.

2. Click on "Your Profile"

3. In the top box next to Mobile phone, enter your cell phone number. After clicking inputting your cell phone number in the box, click the checkbox down below next to "Require multi-factor authentication for logins from unrecognized devices."

4. Click Save
