How May I Use Zoom?

Zoom (http://zoom.us) is a popular video conferencing tool, allow one or more people in different locations to join together in a virtual space for conversation.  You may employ Zoom tools/functions to enhance this conversation.  For instance:

  1. Use the Share button in the Zoom tool bar to share content from your computer, tablet, or smart phone.  The meeting host may need to grant co-host status to others wishing to share (under Participants button), if “share by others” is not activated in main settings.
  2. Use the Poll tool in the tool bar to create and launch polls to query participants.
  3. Record the meeting to share with others later.  Your Zoom recordings are automatically ingested into your Panopto video library (My files-- meeting recordings).  Access this library through one of your Brightspace courses or at https://genesee.hosted.panopto.com (use your myGCC login credentials, if prompted).
  4. Use Zoom to record a mini-lesson, lecture, or message to your students.  Add a link to this video in your Brightspace course.  You also may share a link to this meeting with other people by adjusting the Share settings for the video in your Panopto library.
  5. Explore various Zoom Whiteboards, by clicking the Whiteboard button in the tool bar.  You may open a blank whiteboard or one of many templates.  You may write or type content on whiteboards.
