Setting up your Microsoft Outlook 365

Summary

Faculty, Staff and Students all have access to Microsoft Outlook 365 for email *@genesee.edu

Before You Start

You will need an active GCC account:

  • Faculty/Staff - This is your NetID not your email address
  • Students - your email account is created 24hrs AFTER you register for your first class. 

 

Steps

 

To access your Outlook email from the SharePoint site (https://mygcc.genesee.edu/), follow these steps:

  1. Open your preferred web browser and navigate to the SharePoint site at https://mygcc.genesee.edu/.
  2. Log in with your Genesee Community College (GCC) credentials (username and password). 
  3. Once logged in, you'll be directed to the SharePoint home page. Locate the "waffle" icon or the "App Launcher" at the top left corner of the page. This icon looks like a 3x3 grid of squares.
  4. Click on the "waffle" icon or "App Launcher" to expand a menu of available Microsoft 365 applications.
  5. Find the "Outlook" app icon, which should look like an envelope with an "O" on it. If you cannot see it, click on "All apps" at the bottom of the menu to see a full list of available applications.
  6. Click on the "Outlook" app icon. This will open your Outlook email in a new browser tab or window.
  7. You should now see your Outlook email inbox. From here, you can read, send, and manage your emails as needed.
  8. **Remember to log out of your account and close the browser when you're finished, especially if you're using a shared or public computer.
