How to Install Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)

Summary

This tutorial is designed to guide you on how to download Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint from MyGCC using your NetID@genesee.edu for login.

Before You Start

Before you commence the downloading process, ensure you have the following:

  1. A stable internet connection to avoid interruptions during the download process.
  2. Your NetID@genesee.edu login credentials. 
  3. Ensure your device meets the minimum system requirements to run the Microsoft Office suite.

Steps 

  1. Navigate to the MyGCC Portal using the following link: https://mygcc.genesee.edu/
  2. Log in by entering your NetID@genesee.edu and the associated password, then click on "Sign In."
  3. Click on the “Waffle” icon in the upper Left hand corner (9-dots) and choose "More Apps" in the bottom right of the window

  4. Click on "Install Apps"  --> Microsoft 365 apps

  5. Then Click on "Install Office"

  6. Follow the prompts to install the Microsoft Office Suite to your personal computer!

    1. NOTE: Microsoft licensing for their applications requires that you sign in with your NetID@genesee.edu username and password.  If you have a Microsoft account under another username/password you may need to sign out of that account first before signing in with your GCC NetID

Additional Resources

If you have an Office 365 A5 license, you are entitled to install these apps on up to (5) five devices. This means you can have the apps installed on your personal computer, laptop, tablet, and smartphones, all under the same license.
